KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party Patron-in-Chief, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, despite being hectically involved in the preparation for a super-hyped-up political rally here, Friday launched a passionate appeal to all his cohorts to make Saturday’s rally worthy of becoming a part of history books.
“Be a part of history help us continue #SZAB & #SMBB mission … Quaid-e-Azam Park ..18th October 2014″, said a tweet that Bilawal posted on his Twitter account timeline.
He also shared with his followers the feelings he had had after climbing on the Democracy Caravan, a special bomb-proof mobile podium, just like Imran Khan’s Azadi Bus, whence he will address the Saturday’s rally.
He tweeted,” “I start this journey for my people, for the martyrs, for my mother. Boarding the truck bought back some painful memories.”
On October 18, 2007 Bilawal’s mother and former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, who was on board a similar podium-cum-truck came under a massive bombing attack in Karachi –two months before she was assassinated. The bombing resulted in at least 139 deaths and 450 injuries. Most of the dead were members of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
In another tweet he thanked the ‘steeled lovers’ of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, the founder of the PPP, and his mother Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto for making him feel so safe.
“Forever grateful to Jaan nisaar e Benazir (those who were ready to die for Benazir) who always stood like an iron wall protecting my mother & now me”, said the Twitter post dedicated to the loyalty of Jiyalas.
