A high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif to discuss national security was held in Islamabad on Tuesday. Meanwhile Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that the all institutions are united for the protection of national security and regional sovereignty. He said that all efforts would be made for the success of the dialogue process for establishing peace in the country. He said the peace in Karachi would be ensured at all costs, adding that the writ of the government would be ensured in Balochistan.
According to a private TV chairman Prime Minister said that Pakistan wants to resolve all disputes with neighboring countries through dialogues process and wants to establish relations with neighboring countries on equality basis. Prime minister said that all steps would be initiated for ensuring the national sovereignty of the country.
The meeting was held at the Prime Minister House where officials discussed matters related to regional peace and post election situation in the neighbouring countries of India and Afghanistan.
The meeting was attended by Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Information and Broadcasting Minister Senator Parvez Rashid, Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Advisor to PM on Foreign Affairs and National Security Mr. Sartaj Aziz, DG ISI Lt. General Muhammad Zaheer-ul-Islam, Chief of General Staff Lt. General Ashfaq Nadeem, DG MO Maj. General Amir Riaz, Secretary to PM Mr. Javaid Aslam and Additional Secretary to PM Mr. Fawad Hasan Fawad.
Prevailing National and regional security situation was reviewed in the meeting.

Prevailing National and regional security situation was reviewed in the meeting which also discussed the law and order situation in Balochistan and Karachi. Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar briefed the meeting about the internal security of the country.
Sources told that DG ISI Lt General Zaheerul Islam briefed the members on the security situation during the meeting.
