KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) London-based supremo Altaf Hussain wants Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif to have the military investigators dig into Baldia Town garments factory arson case and unearth the truth.
“I appeal to the army chief to step in to bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime,” Hussain said.
Demanding public execution of the arsonists, whose devilry led to the terrible deaths of 250 factory workers, the MQM leader said that a transparent investigation was imperative for the justice to prevail.
“They should be hanged by the neck in the middle of a roundabout specifically built to make an example of such offenders,” Hussain said.
On February 7, Rangers, in a report prepared by a joint investigation team (JIT), had claimed that the MQM was behind the deadly fire.
Since the release of the report, the MQM leadership has been vehemently denying it as an attempt to assassinate the party’s political character.
