Battleground Islamabad: Clashes Continue as Imran, Qadri seek ‘Revolution’

ISLAMABAD: Hundreds of people were injured in the federal capital and police clashed crowds of demonstrators, led by Pakistan Tharik- I- Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami move (PAT) President Dr. Kadri Tahirul.

Held again with tear gas, batons and rubber bullets outside the official residence of the prime minister and the parliament building next door – the protesters – demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

After a night of clashes, protesters regrouped on Sunday and clashed repeatedly with heavy deployment of security forces. Some 25,000 people marched on the prime minister’s house late on Saturday after talks with the government brokered by the army failed to end the political impasse.
