Khurram Dastgir was talking to US ambassador, Richard Olson in Islamabad on Friday. He said that the US should allow Pakistani exporters to the US markets as an important trade stakeholder so that they could avail opportunities and export their goods in the US markets.
The US ambassador assured the federal minister that in future, more attention would be paid on trade in the Pak-US relations instead of aid.
He expressed hope that both the countries would review the bilateral trade in the next round of the council of the policy agreement regarding the trade and investment between both the country and a long term strategy would be prepared for further strengthening the bilateral trade between both the countries.
Meanwhile, supporters of Federal Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir welcomed the minister in his hometown with loud aerial firing and open display of weapons, defying the law and order.
The celebratory supporters also kept the roads blocked. The supporters of federal minister Khurram Dastgir defied all boundaries when the minister arrived in his hometown Gujranwala for the first time after the new ministership.
Open display of arms and ammunition was witnessed including several rounds of aerial firing. The federal minister and policeman deployed with his convoy kept watching the show without intervening. The rest of the supporters kept celebrating with their peculiar dance moves.
Meanwhile, the citizens stuck in the traffic jam kept waiting like the silent spectators. Following the report, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif took notice and ordered an inquiry.
