Severe breakdown of electricity was observed throughout the night in various areas of the Lahore city as 60 feeders remained suspended on Tuesday. Dense fog prompted the Motorway police to suspend traffic in different areas.
As per details, dense fog engulfed Lahore, Sheikhupura, Daska, Faisalabad, Pindi Bhattiyan, Pind Dadan Khan, Layyah, Okara, Muzzafargarh, Malisi, Lodhran and other areas of Punjab.
Due to poor visibility, a car collided with another near Ghora Chowk in Defense Phase-III area of Lahore, killing four people including Mishal (20), Rameeza (16), Tariq (23) and Ghulam Nabi (35).
Separately, a person on motorcycle died on spot after collision with a truck on Main Boulevard in Johar Town area.
In Okara, five people were reportedly injured in different roads mishaps. A motorcyclist died on the spot after hitting a truck on Depalpur Road. Two people were killed when their motorcycles collided on Fatehpur Road in Layyah. In Mananwala, at least 13 people were injured when a passenger bus hit a truck.
At least 15 passengers were hurt when a mini-bus crashed into a nullah in Kot Pinddadan. One passenger died and three were injured in two separate incidents on Lodhran-Khanewal road.
On the other hand, domestic and international flights remained affected at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport and operation was suspended on Multan, Lahore airports, whereas the traffic police have advised people to refrain from driving on motorway due to zero visibility and urged the drivers to switch on fog lights while traveling.
The schedule of trains also has been affected due to dense fog in throughout the Punjab.
