MULTAN: Having won the by-election in NA-149 with the mounting support of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), jubilant Malik Amir Dogar appeared before the media and thanked Imran Khan and the PTI over the backing.
Earlier, Shah Mehmood Qureshi showed up at his residence to felicitate him over a victory in the by-election that is being considered as bellwether of change in the national politics.
Having garlanded beaming Qureshi, Dogar said, “I am thankful to my benefactor Shah Mehmood Qureshi.” He also maintained the air of change sweeps the national landscape from Khyber to Karachi, asserting that this is not Javed Hashmi’s defeat; instead, it is the rulers who were routed.
The masses came up with a decision in complete consonance with their conscience, he added and vowed to fight for the people’s right at the floor of the Assembly.
“I give my pledge that I will wage the fight for the people of Multan at the floor of the assembly,” Dogar reiterated his resolve.
On this occasion, Qureshi remarked Dogar joined hands with the PTI for the New Pakistan. He also thanked the Multan voters in NA149, remarking Multan always engenders the national movements.
Multan turned Rabbit—Dogar’s electoral symbol, into the Bat—the electoral symbol of the PTI, he added.
It seems that rabbit has eaten up the tiger and now, Multan has stood clean of its smear, he asserted adding the people of Multan have demonstrated and established their political insight.
Commenting on the ramifications of Multan by-polls, the PTI’s veteran leader claimed this election will introduce ‘change’ in the politics of Pakistan.
