ISLAMABAD, SARGODHA, (SANA): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Mian Nawaz Sharif has said that there would not have been any electricity crisis in Pakistan if his party had been in power, adding that the agenda of his party is to steer the country out of crises.
Addressing traders’ convention on the occasion of the International Labour Day here on Wednesday at a local hotel Nawaz Sharif said that his services for the nation are well known to the people.
He said that the PML-N would make efforts for controlling terrorism and shortage of power. He said that Pervez Musharraf gifted load shedding during its tenure while the Pakistan Peoples Party increased the duration of load shedding.
If voted to power, Nawaz Sharif pledged that his party would form economic policies of the country with the consultation of traders and industrialists. The previous government, he said, had given the gift of electricity to nation.
Nawaz Sharif said that Zardri government did not even understand the meaning of development as it did nothing for the business community in five years. He said that PML-N alone has the agenda and solution to resolve the crises being faced by Pakistan.
“I not only played cricket, but made the country a nuclear power.” Pakistan’s situation is getting worse day by day, he said.
The PML-N chief said that he had no desire to become Prime Minister, adding that his only agenda was to steer the country out of crises. Nawaz Sharif said that if he is given an opportunity to come to power, his party will bring the country out of existing crises. He added that the PML (N) would make efforts for controlling terrorism and shortage of power.
He said it is agenda of his party to bring the country out of crises. He added that dictatorship gifted load-shedding during its tenure. He said PML-N will eradicate menace of corruption from the country.
“PML-N is the only political entity which can put the country on the path of progress and development as it has an experienced team to deliver”, said Nawaz Sharif.
He pledged that PML-N would form economic policies of the country with the consultation of traders and industrialists‚ if it is voted to power. He also promised to establish peace in the country. He said that the PML-N government will make economic, trade, import and export polices with the consultation of the traders. He said that only PML-N has the agenda of the economic progress of the country. He said that the masses should come out from their houses and vote for PML-N.
Nawaz Sharif said that he not only played cricket but also made Pakistan nuclear country. He said that during the past five years the development works were done in Punjab but in other three provinces nothing was done for the masses, adding that there is no allegation of corruption on the PML-N’s Punjab government.
Meanwhile addressing a public gathering in Sargodha on Wednesday, Nawaz Sharif said that rulers have made the country a barren land where neither there is bread to eat nor water to drink nor employment, adding that the people are dying of hunger and starvation while the rulers are collecting wealth for their vested interests.
He said that he would construct special Motorway for the people of Sargodha which is the city of Pakistan Air Force’s Shaheens who gave sacrifices for the nation at every hour of trouble and trial.
Giving reference to Punjab chief minister, he said that Shahbaz completed great projects for the masses without any discrimination.
He said it is regrettable to say that factories have closed due to energy crisis; millions of workers are bound to wander in the streets without any job. There is an unending chain of protests, demonstrations in the country. The question is that who is responsible for this chaotic situation, said Nawaz.
History records that India used to beg for electricity from Pakistan but unluckily the situation has diametrically changed.
He said, “We always spoke truth with the nation. When the people of south Punjab were drowning, we supported them without any discrimination. It was Shahbaz Sharif who installed a base camp there in the flood-hit areas and focused his full attention for regeneration and restoration of the people.”
He said that the nation may make assessment by observing ads on TV screens that which party contributed for the nation and which political group neglected and rejected the masses.
He added that he had not come to Sargodha for votes; rather, his mission is to make the people understand about their well wishers and bad-wishers.
He said that the dictator who toppled his government was actually enemy of the nation. I was put behind the bars without any justification. In this way, the direction of the country was changed in wrong way, leaving the people at the mercy of the fate.
He said that some politicians are shouting slogans of change. Actually they have no vision and programme. They are trapping the youth just for their personal aims.
“PML-N is being targeted for taking turns; the reality is that we served the nation without any personal interest. We introduced new technology in the country. We installed industry and constructed network of road across Pakistan” said PML-N chief.
He concluded that the PML-N has a team of experts who have ability to cope with challenging crises and can resolve issues faced by the nation on priority basis.
“If the PML-N is given an opportunity to come to power, it would lay foundation of agricultural and industrial units, multiply the ratio of exports, create millions of jobs for workers and labourers who are real force of the nation”, said Nawaz.
He said that educated people would be given micro loans so that unemployed youth may be able to earn their livings with respectable means.
He said that Pakistan has been overwhelmed by stumbling blocks and tremendous problems but by the grace of Allah we would overcome these issues with the cooperation of sincere voters and supporters.
He said that rural areas would be uplift with welfare projects. Farmers would be provided with cheap fertilizer and seeds.
In the last, he appealed to the people to support PML-N candidate from Sargodha, with the hope that new leaders would serve the people without any discrimination.
Meanwhile in an interview with a private TV channel, Nawaz Sharif said that he would take action against Pervez Musharraf under Article six of the constitution if he becomes Prime Minister of the country.
He said the action should be taken against a person who had suspended the Constitution and Law of the country, adding that he would take action against a dictator regardless of the consequences, adding that if the Pandora’s Box is opened in result of action against Musharraf then there is no problem. He said that when Musharraf returned to Pakistan he has adopted principled stance and there is no pressure of Saudi Arabia on him in this matter.
He said that if the privileged are left and the underprivileged are taken into account it indicates that the law is only for the poor. He demanded of the timely election and said that terrorism has also affected members of their party including the leaders of the party.
He said that his party has condemned the incidents of the bomb blasts, adding that it is not true that we are silent regarding condemning the terror attacks.
He lamented the killing of the son and nephew of the President of PML-N’s Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Zehri by the extremists, adding that the attack on the office of PML-N in Peshawar is also condemnable.
