Ex-Brig along with wife, two daughters murdered in Rawalpindi

jabRAWALPINDI: A retired brigadier of Pakistan Army was found dead along with his wife and two daughters in Al-Shifa Colony, within the limits of Morgah Police Station on Tuesday.


Police said bodies of Brig. (retd) Dr. Sikandar Ali Malik, his wife Shahida, two daughters Fatima and Zenab were found in their house.


Officials said all the deceased were shot dead; however, motives behind the mysterious murders could not be ascertained immediately.


Police said that four bodies were recovered from one house in Al-Shifa Colony, which were identified as Brigadier (retired) Sikandar Malik, his wife and two daughters.


Police cordoned off the area, while the bodies were shifted to CMH. According to police, the incident took place on late Monday night.


The brigadier’s son Haider Ali survived the attack. The security agencies took Ali Haider into custody for investigation. According to initial statement Ali Haider informed the investigators that he heard bullet shots but did not see the culprits.


According to sources, Brigadier (rtd) Dr Sikander Ali Malik was the principle of a private medical college and was retired as brigadier from a sensitive institution.

According to a private TV channel, the area in which incident occurred is highly sensitive and no one without proving his identity could enter. There is strict checking at the entrance of the colony. According to sources both murdered daughters were students of medical. No harm was done to windows or house during the attack.
