ISLAMABAD, (SANA): 25-member federal cabinet has taken oath. President Asif Ali Zardari administered the oath of newly inducted members of the federal cabinet. Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif was also present on the occasion. The cabinet members include 16 federal and nine state ministers; meanwhile prime minister has appointed two advisors and two special assistants.
Federal ministers include Chauhdry Nisar Ali Khan, Senator Ishaq Dar, khawaja Muhammad Asif, khawaja Saad Rafiq, Chaudhry Ahsan Iqbal, Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi, Zahid Hamid, Barjeesh Tahir, Rana Tanvir Hussain, Shahid Khaqan Abbaassi, Pir Sadruddin Radhidi, lt general (retd) Abdul Qadir Baloch, Sardar Sikandar Hayat Bosan, Senator Parvez Rashid, Senator Kamran Michel, Sardar Muhammad Yousuf; meanwhile state ministers include Anoosha Rehman, Jam Kamal, Engineer khurram Dastagir Khan, Usman Ibrahim, Pir Aminul Hasnat Shah, Sheikh Aftab Ahmed, Engineer Balighur Rehman, Abdul Hakim Baloch and Saira Afzal Tarar.
Chauhdry Nisar Ali Khan has been appointed Interior Minister, Senator Ishaq Dar Finance Minister, khawaja Muhammad Asif Minister of Water and Power, khawaja Saad Rafiq Minister for Railways, Chaudhry Ahsan Iqbal has been appointed Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi Federal Minister for Industries, Zahid Hamid Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Chauhdry Barjeesh Tahir Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Rana Tanvir Hussain has been appointed Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Shahid Khaqan Abbaassi Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources, Pir Sadruddin Radhidi Food Security, lt general (retd) Abdul Qadir Baloch Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions, Sardar Sikandar Hayat Bosan has been appointed as federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, Senator Parvez Rashid Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Senator Kamran Michel Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousuf Federal Minister for Religious Affairs.
Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif has also appointed two advisors and two special assistants. These include Sartaj Aziz, Sadar Sanaullah Zehri, Tariq Fatmi and captain (retd) Shujaat Azim.
The ceremony was also attended by Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Khalid Shamim Wynn, chiefs of the three armed forces, PML-N and PPP leaders, and parliamentarians. The national anthem was played prior to the start of ceremony. Verses of the Holy Qurran were recited on the occasion. Cabinet Secretary Nargis Sethi performed the duty of stage secretary.
