Govt should now return to talks as enough action has been taken against Taliban: Rustam Mohmand

Pakistan-talibantalks-rustamshahmohmand-terrorism_2-12-2014_137549_lISLAMABAD: Rustam Shah Mohmand one of the members of the government negotiation committee on Sunday said that the air strikes in Terah valley and Hangu were in reaction of the earlier Karachi and Mohmand Agency horrible terror incidents, adding that the government has taken enough action now it should returned to dialogues.

Talking to a private TV channel Rustam Shah Mohmand said that the response to terror attacks was enough and the government should now revert back to talks adding military action was not the solution of the problem and Taliban should be brought into the mainstream under the constitution. He said that the dialogue process hasn’t yet failed; it has just met with a deadlock. He said that military action is not the permanent solution of any problem. He said that the Taliban should be brought in the mainstream while following the constitution.

Rustam Shah while hailing the role of Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif said prime minister wants to resolve the issue through dialogues. He said that the government committee is waiting for the green signal of the government for resuming dialogue process.

Rustam Shah Mohmand said that the constitution was not of any group but of 180 million people. Any amendment in the constitution could be made by the parliament only and it could not be changed on the command of one group, he said.
