Govt should resolve problems of tribal areas though dialogue process instead of carrying out operation and bombardment: Siraj

siraj ul haqAmir Jamaat-e-Islami Sirajul Haq said government should resolve problems of tribal areas though dialogue process instead of carrying out operation and bombardment. He said it is responsibility of federal government to remove hurdles from the way of dialogues process. He said that the government should inform the masses about the hurdles present in the way of the dialogue process. He said 180 million Pakistanis would continue support of Kashmiris till the achievement of freedom from India. He said it is regrettable that Nawaz Shairf did not held meetings with Hurriyat leaders and also not discussed the Kashmir issue with Indian rulers during Indian visit. He said the tension between institutions would result in harming democracy in country. He said only masses are authorized to remove the government, adding that the governments should be allowed to continue work and deliver.

While briefing the media during JI Central Executive Committee meeting he said Pakistan could not be discussed while sitting in London, adding London could be discussed while sitting in London. Sirajul Haq said it was unfortunate that the promises made with Baloch people were not fulfilled. He said special packages of 100 billion rupees each for Karachi and tribal areas should be announces in next budget.

“The government must pay heed to problems in Karachi and FATA. In order to provide relief to poor, the federal government should release Rs.100 billions for Karachi in the budget,” Haq demanded.

“Issues for tribal agencies should be resolved on priority basis,” the JI chief said and sought government’s attention to tribal areas, saying that people of FATA have started migration to Afghanistan due to military operation.

“The migration will put a negative impact on Pakistan. Our youths will live in refugee camps in Afghanistan and ultimately they will be used for terrorism… It’s an alarming situation for our tribal areas which have been dragged into the great game.”

Haq condemned what he called “genocide” of tribal people, urging Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to visit North and South Waziristan agencies instead of visiting foreign countries.

“Over 10 million people in tribal areas are facing severe hardships. The prime minister should address their issues by visiting South and North Waziristan rather than visiting London and India,” the JI chief said.

“The people of tribal areas are pro-Pakistan. They are as patriots as people of Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar and Islamabad… They are ready to cooperate with the government,” he affirmed.

He said it was noted in the JI CEC meeting that the tension between state institutions would cause harm to the democracy. “Some people strive for democracy during dictatorship and later invite autocracy to topple democratic governments.”

He said Nawaz Sharif did not highlight Kashmir issue during his visit to India “but we declare that 18 crore people of Pakistan are with their Kashmiri brothers for their freedom struggle.”

To a question regarding negotiations with Taliban groups, Sirajul Haq urged the federal government to remove hurdles in way of peace talks with Taliban. “Some elements are bent upon sabotaging the peace process.” He said the personalities are present country who could play role in the dialogue process, adding that it is up to the government in which way it takes benefit from the dialogue process.

About Saturday’s meeting between Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q) leaders in London, he said “It’s time to serve people rather than politicizing issues… There is load-shedding and hot weather in Pakistan, so those who can afford tickets go to London.”

“Pakistan’s politics could be discussed in Pakistan, not in London. Only people of this country have a right to overthrow their rulers.”

Secretary General JI Liaquat Baloch, JI Sindh Amir Mirajul Huda, JI KPK Amir Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Khan and other leaders were also present on the occasion.
