Incidents like martyrdom of FC personnel impact talks negatively: Nawaz

nwazzISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has condemned the killing of 23 FC personnel in Mohmand Agency as a gruesome act. Prime minister said the lives of our children are very precious, adding that the terrorism would not be tolerated anymore.

In a statement‚ he said incidents like that of martyrdom of FC personnel in Mohmand Agency cast negative impact on peace talks.

The Prime Minister said Pakistan cannot afford bloodshed any more.
Paying rich tributes to the sacrifices of the martyrs‚ he said we initiated the dialogue process with good intentions in the light of the decisions of All Parties Conference (APC); however‚ the process is sabotaged whenever we reach an encouraging point.

“However whenever we reach an encouraging point, the process is sabotaged,” he said and termed it a painful situation that has also aggrieved the entire nation.

President Mamnoon Hussain has condemned the killing of FC personnel in Mohmand Agency.

He expressed grief and sorrow over the incident. He also prayed for the eternal peace of those martyred.

Meanwhile the coordinator of the government committee Irfan Siddiqui said circumstances relating to negotiations with the Pakistani Taliban were not heading in the right direction.

He added that after the killing of 23 FC soldiers, holding talks with the committee representing the TTP was a futile enterprise.

Siddiqui, on the government committee’s behalf, condemned the incident in Mohmand, saying the nation was expecting immediate, positive results and the current scenario failed to depict those.

Moreover, sources in the Prime Minister House said that after Sunday’s incident, the government committee had decided not to hold its scheduled meeting with TTP negotiators.

Also later, Siddiqui and another member of the government committee, Major (retd) Muhammad Amir, met with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and discussed the situation arising after the killing of the 23 FC personnel. Prime minister on the occasion said that the lives of our children are very precious, adding that the terrorism would not be tolerated anyone. Prime minister said who is trying to influence the dialogue process Taliban should take notice, adding that this time of concern for them.

According to the government sources the peace process could be affected from the terrorist incidents.

Meanwhile according to a private TV channel the military was prepared to launch a full scale operation against militant sanctuaries in North Waziristan agency.

Sources said the army was awaiting a green signal from the government, adding that a large number of troops were being dispatched to North Waziristan from various formations across the country.
