Judiciary would have to interfere if any pillar of State would deviate from its limits: CJ

wldLAHORE: Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani has said that the judiciary would have to interfere if any pillar of the State would deviate from its limits. Chief Justice said that the Judiciary would continue to play its role for supremacy of the law.

Chief Justice, Tassaduq Hussain Jillani was addressing a license awarding ceremony to lawyers in Lahore on Saturday. Chief Justice said that the judiciary has an important role in the Constitution of the country. He said that the judiciary has to ensure that every pillar of the state should perform its duties while keeping within its legal authority.

The Chief Justice said that division of powers is very much clear in the Constitution. He said that the judiciary will continue to play its role for the supremacy of law. He said that they will deliver justice- based judgments and will protect the Constitution.

The constitution has provided full protection to the freedom of the judiciary, saying that the constitution gives democratic system in the country, he said.

Chief Justice said that no progress can be made without supremacy of the constitution and rule of law, saying that the judiciary has no bludgeon for protecting its freedom and implementation of its judgments but the moral weapon.

Chief Justice said that people have trust on the judiciary and it demands that the judgments of the court should be implemented and any unconstitutional step against the judiciary should be foiled.
