KARACHI, SANA): At least seven persons were killed in fresh incidents of violence and firing in different parts of Karachi on Thursday.
According to Police, two brothers, identified as Abdullah and Wahid were shot dead. They were found shot dead after being kidnapped outside their home in city’s Memon Goth area. Officials said that the tortured bodies were found near Malir River.
In another incident, two more bodies of youths were recovered in Model Colony and Ehsan Abad area near Super Highway. They were also gunned down by some kidnappers.
One dead body of a person recovered from the Ghazi Goth area of the city and one person was shot dead and three others were injured in firing at D-block Sarjani town area of the city.
In another incident one person was killed and one other was injured in firing near telephone exchange in the Model colony.
Meanwhile, Rangers continued their ‘targeted operation’ in Korngi’s Mehran Town and the restive Orangi Town. The paramilitary troops claimed to have arrested some 40 suspected criminals, recovering illegal arms during the crackdown.
Police have claimed to have killed local leader of a banned outfit allegedly involved in murder of prominent social worker Parveen Rehman in Karachi’s Orangi locality on Wednesday.
Some Qari Bilal was killed during a police encounter in Manghopir area as DIG West Javed Odho informed the media.
He claimed that the alleged terrorist was local commander of Sher Khan Mehsood group and might have been involved in the murder of Parveen Rehman.
Police said the TTP leader and his accomplice were arrested during a raid conducted in Khuda Ki Basti area of the metropolis.
They said the raid was conducted on the basis of information received from two suspects arrested earlier in the morning. They said the TTP commander was involved in several bomb blasts in Karachi.
Police said that Mansoor, one of the suspects arrested in the morning on Thursday, was involved in Abbas Town blast. The police said Mansoor had parked a explosive laden Suzuki Pickup in Abbas Town.
