KARACHI,(SANA): At least 11 people were killed in fresh incidents of violence and firing in Karachi on Wednesday.
According to police, the director of the Orangi Pilot project Perveen Rehman was killed in result of the firing of the unknown persons near the Pirabad police station vicinity in Orangi Town area of the city.
She was critically injured in the result of the firing and succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital. Perveen Rehman was social activist and was 50 years old.
In another incident, one person was shot dead at Nayaabad in Lyari and some unknown gunmen shot dead a person near Old Haji Camp area of the city.
In another incident, a person named Noorul Islam was killed in a drive-by shooting in Korangi.
A dead body was found in the jurisdiction of Civil Line Police Station. The victim was identified as 12-year-old Muhammad Hussain.
In another incident, one dead body was found from Khokrapar area. The body was yet to be identified. One dead body was recovered from Dastagir area of the city.
One dead body packed in gunny bag was recovered near the Soldier bazaar police station.
Meanwhile, at least seven persons were killed in two separate road accidents at Karachi and Khanewal.
According to reports, a passenger coaster collided with a ten-wheeler trailer on Super Highway near Karachi, killing four people.
Rescue teams said that 17 people including three women and eight children were also injured in the mishap. They were shifted to Noori Abad hospital.
In another accident‚ three people were killed in a bus-wagon crash near Khanewal town of Punjab and four people were injured in the accident.
