Karzai supports Nawaz stance on drone strikes

KABUL, (SANA): Afghan President Hamid Karzai says he is against drones and agrees with Prime MinisterNawaz Sharif’s stand against drone strikes.

This Hamid Karzai said in an interview with a private TV channel. He said that the issue of drone strikes is between Pakistan and the United States; however he is not in favor of this practice and is against it.

The Afghan President further revealed, that the Taliban commander for Bajaur Agency Faqir Muhammed is in Afghan custody, and admitted that Swat Taliban commander Fazlullah and others are in Kunar province. Karzai alleged that the peace could not be established in Afghanistan due to the interference of Pakistani establishment. Karzai said that the Afghans are victims of war started from other side of the Durand line. Hamid Karzai also felicitated Mian Nawaz Sharif on becoming Prime Minister.

Hamid Karzai also sought apology from Pakistanis over the incident of burning of Pakistani flag during protest in Afghanistan. Karzai said his government would take steps to stop such incidents from happening in future.
