Kashmiris not willing to remain under India’s control: Geelani

SRINAGAR, (SANA): All Parties Hurriyet Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani has called upon the people to stay away from forthcoming elections.

Syed Ali Geelani addressing a condolence meeting in connection with martyrdom of Muhammad Altaf Baba via telephone at Aglar in Pakarpora said, “The best way to pay homage to the martyrs is to take their mission to its logical end by continuing the struggle.”

He said the most excellent method to remember and give due respect to the holy blood of martyrs is to completely boycott the elections to show to the world that Kashmiris are not willing to remain under the control of New Delhi.”

Syed Ali Geelani reminded people of the atrocities committed by India forces and puppet administration and asked the people to join the Hurriyet ranks.

Meanwhile, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir led by Syed Ali Geelani will set up a blood bank to provide humanitarian assistance to the people of Kashmir. It will be inaugurated at Hyderpora on World Blood Donor Day, June 14, a TeH spokesman said in a statement issued in Srinagar.

Blood donation camps will be organised across Jammu and Kashmir in a phased manner, the spokesman added.

Giving details he said, the need for the blood bank was badly felt in the past alsoand people were strongly demanding creation of such a blood bank. “The delay in the blood bank was because of the hurdles created by the government through suppression from time to time,” the spokesman said.

He added that Kashmiris are carrying forward a big movement for their right of self determination. Sometimes in this movement such stages do come when people get killed and injured on large scale due to firing by armed forces. In such situations the injured need blood and because of the disturbed conditions the people wishing to donate blood are not able to reach hospitals. This creates a serious situation and human lives are put to danger, the spokesman stated.

“Even during normal situation admitted patients in hospitals also need blood but are unable to arrange it for one reason or the other. This also puts them in a dangerous situation. Since Geelani Sahib is a great leader of the movement, he has to take care of the requirements of the movement which are within his reach,” the spokesman said.
He alleged that people to donate blood for the blood bank from June 14.
