Kashmiris observe black day across the world against Indian occupation

kshmISLAMABAD, MUZAFFARABAD, SRINAGAR: The Kashmiris on both sides of the line of control and across the world observed Black Day on Sunday against illegal Indian occupation on Kashmir. The life remained paralyzed in Indian occupied Kashmir (IOK) due to successful strike, meanwhile protests and rallies were arranged in all district headquarters of Azad Kashmir. The call for observing black was given by APHC (G) Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani.

The IOK authorities kept Hurriyat leaders including Syed Ali Geelani, Shabbir Ahmed Shah and others under house arrest on Sunday.

The demonstrators marched towards UN office in Srinagar where security forces arrested Yousuf Naqash, Shabbir Dar and several other leaders.

The President of Azad Kashmir Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob led sit-in arranged before UN mission office in Islamabad. The protestors demanded of the UN that the Kashmiris should be given right of self determination, adding that delay for the solution of the Kashmir can become the reason for atomic war between two atomic power states.

President Azad Kashmir Sardar Yaqoob, ex premier Azad Kashmir Barister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, former speaker legislative assembly AJK Shah Ghulam Qadir, Senior Minister Chaudhry Yaseen, Noorul Bari, PML-N leader Siddiqul Farooq, Hurriyat leaders Muhammad Yousuf Naseem, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Farooq Rehmani, Maulana Ghulam Nabi Noshehri, Mehmood Saghir, Rafiq Dar, Faiz Naqashbandi, Altaf Butt and other leaders were present on the occasion of sit-in.

The participants of the sit-in raised slogans in favor of independence of occupied Kashmir and leaders presented memorandum to UN mission in which the withdrawal of Indian forces from IOK, release of Kashmiri prisoners and right of self determination has been demanded according to the UN resolution.

Addressing to the sit-in Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob said that Kashmiris are waiting for their right of self determination from last half century but unfortunately UN has done nothing for their rights, adding that time has come that international community should pay attention over the burning issue of Asia.

He said that Kashmiris would continue their struggle till the logical conclusion of dispute.

Prime Minister Azad Kashmir and Minister for Kashmir Affairs Barjis Tahir led another rally arranged in Muzaffarbad, meanwhile Muttahida Jihad Council also arranged a protest.

Chairman Muttahida Jihad Council Syed Sallah-ud-din addressing to the protestors said that 27 October is a black day in the history of IOK.
He said that the black day tells the world that Kashmiris not accept Indian occupation. He said in is promoting terrorism throughout Pakistan including Balochistan, adding that the dialogues with the killer of 0.5 million Kashmiris were unacceptable. He said the friendship with India and advocacy of Kashmiris could not run side by side.

Later addressing to Azam-e-Azadi conference Syed Salahuddin said that Jihad is only way for independence, adding that the friendship with India and support of Kashmiris can not move ahead in same time.

He said that Pakistanis should keep in mind that India is turning the ways of rivers going towards Pakistan, adding that the dialogues with killer of the 0.5 million Kashmiris are not acceptable.

Syed Salahuddin said that if India thinks that Kashmir is not dispute than for what wants dialogues, adding that we make it clear on Pakistani leadership that Kashmiris would not accept dialogues with India on price of Kashmiris.

He said that Nawaz Sharif presented the stance of Kashmiris with the wishes of masses before the United States but Nawaz should keep in mind that India understands only voice of power. Nawaz Sharif should do friendship with India but he should not beg for dialogues, Syed said.

The leaders of 16 Jihadi organizations addressed the conference.
Meanwhile addressing a public meeting over telephone Geelani said UNO has failed to give right of self determination to Kashmiris through plebiscite. Kashmiris did not accept Indian occupation, adding the Kashmiris should be given right of self determination, Geelani added.
