Khawaja Asif vows to overcome energy crisis

ISLAMABAD, (SANA): Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that masses should not be disappointed government would overcome energy crisis, adding that within few years there would be complete lighting in all over the country.
He urged the masses to point out the energy theft in their surroundings and government would arrest those thieves because the burden of theft electricity ultimately comes on consumers.

He said that the burden of increased electricity prices would come on air conditioner users instead of the common consumers.

In an interview with Private TV channel Khawaja Asif said that constitution does not allows any one to malign the judiciary, adding that politicians should avoid to targeting the judiciary but unfortunately some politicians have made it habit to criticize the judiciary after defeat in general elections.

Federal minister advised the PTI chairman to keep respect the judicial institution because courts are responsible to provide justice to the masses. He said that government has cut off the electricity of a defaulter and a Jirga likely to settle the issue.

Khawaja Muhammad Asif said that due to faulty transmission line quota of electricity can not be provided to Quetta so people are suffering more load-shedding over there. Only 50 percent quota is being provided to the Quetta.

The consumers who are using 200 units would not be affected from recent increase of electricity prices, Khawaja said adding that the theft of electricity is impossible with out assistance of WAPDA employees. He said that federal government would take action against thieves and the cases would be heard utility courts.

He warned that the punishment of electricity theft is 14 years imprisonment and fine is in millions
