LHC adjourns hearing over load shedding case till May 13

LAHORE, (SANA): The Lahore High Court (LHC) has adjourned hearing of the case filed against the load shedding due to non-appearance of the authorities of ministry of water and power in the court.

The Chief Justice LHC Umar Atta Bandial, conducting hearing of the case here on Friday, said that it has not been learnt for years as to how much electric power is being consumed unnecessarily.

He remarked that what action was taken against those who shut down the feeders in the residential areas and supplied the power to the commercial areas.

Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) Chief Muhammad Saleem said that the electric supply to commercial markets should be discontinued from 8.00 pm to 10.00 pm.

Chief Justice LHC inquired about any way through which the load shedding should be ended, adding that how much revenue is given and as to why only a small quantity of power is provided in return.

The Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial again issuing notices to Ministry of Water and Power and NEVTA, directed them to appear on the next hearing. The court adjourned the hearing till May 13.
