JAMMU, (SANA): At least 14 persons including 10 security personnel and two civilians were killed and many others injured in the result of militant attacks on a police station and army camp in Jammu Kashmir’s Kathwa and Samba areas. Five army cops and four police personnel include in killed persons. One Lt. Colonel of army is among the killed persons. Meanwhile in another incident, Indian troops during violent military operations martyred at least seven Kashmiris including a 65-year-old civilian in Trehgam area of Kupwara district.
In occupied Kashmir, at least 10 Indian troops and police personnel including a Lt. Colonol were killed and over a dozen injured early Thursday morning during an attack on Indian army camp near a police station in Kathua district. The Indian army personnel also exchanged firing with the militants. According to an Indian TV channel six army personnel including a Lt Colonel were killed in the militant attack. According to sources the militants are equipped with latest weapons and explosives; meanwhile the Indian army has cordoned off the area.
The militants dressed in Indian army uniform barged into the Indian Army camp at Hiranagar in the district and killed at least six Indian troopers and four police personnel.
Two civilians were martyred by troops on the occasion. Kathua-Jammu highway has been closed after the incident.
While briefing about the militant attack on police station, the Jammu Range IS Rajesh Kumar said that three to four militants wearing military uniforms attacked the Hera Nagar Police Station.
He said that the militants killed police cop at the gate of the police station and after that killed three cops inside the police station.
He said after the militants high jacked a truck and killed the cleaner of truck and fled away along with the driver towards Samba. According to Indian TV channel two militants were killed in the attack. The police station is situation near the LoC.
In another incident, Indian troops during violent military operations martyred at least seven Kashmiris including a 65-year-old civilian in Trehgam area of Kupwara district.
Meanwhile, a police constable was killed in an attack at Naina-Batapora in Pulwama district.
