Fuming over Khan’s utterances against their leader, the Muttahida’s activists took out rallies in different cities and raised slogans against the PTI leader.
In Hyderabad, the MQM activists gathered at the party’s zonal office and expressed their fury over Khan’s outbursts.
In Tando Allah Yar also, the enraged political workers took to roads and staged a demo at Qila Chowk against Khan’s blowups directed against Altaf Hussain.
In Shikarpur, the MQM’s enthusiasts gathered into a rally to express solidarity with Altaf Hussain.
In Mirpur Khas and Sukkur also, Muttahida’s partisans forgathered in front of the party’s zonal office and resorted to raise slogans at full throttle against Imran Khan.
In Lahore, the MQM workers and sympathizers assembled on Wahdat Road and mounted a protest by setting tires on fire.
It should be mentioned here that Imran Khan, while addressing a press conference yesterday at his Bani Gala residence, excoriated Hussain’s tirade against PTI’s women in a televised speech on Saturday night. “Altaf Hussain is a coward, who has been living abroad for over two decades in order to safeguard his life,” he said.
Khan called upon MQM’s supporters to distance themselves from Hussain. “Not everyone in MQM is a killer. We know that some people are very educated. But the party’s militant wing needs to be eliminated.”
“I don’t understand why Karachi’s educated people tolerate a man like Altaf Hussain,” Khan added
