ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif have said the government and nation stand by the armed forces and are ready to offer any sacrifice for the defence of the Motherland.
In his message on the occasion of Defence of Pakistan Day today (Saturday, September 6), the President said being a responsible nuclear state and having valiant armed forces, Pakistan is ever-ready to counter threats on domestic and external fronts.
The President also lauded the sacrifices made by Internally Displaced Persons of North Waziristan and assured that the government and armed forces will not leave any stone un- turned to ensure their look after and rehabilitation.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has urged the need of national unity, self-reliance, strong economy and political stability to tackle multiple threats and challenges facing the country from within and without.
The Prime Minister said Pakistan Army, Navy and Air Force were serving their country with the highest integrity and professional standards, adding, other security institutions were also playing an active role and working hard to ensure the defence of the realm.
“The people of Pakistan appreciate the diverse challenges posed by the changing regional landscape and have absolute faith in the armed forces’ ability to deal with them,” he added.
Nawaz Sharif said that the government and people of Pakistan stood behind their armed forces and would continue to make every sacrifice to ensure that their brave men and women in uniform could perform their duties in the most effective manner possible.
