Nawaz should assume leading role in dialogue with Taliban: Imran

imDERA ISMAIL KHAN : Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan said on Saturday that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should assume the leading role in dialogue with Taliban to eliminate terrorism and success of the process.

Interacting with the media after visiting the family of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa minister Israrullah Gandapur, who was killed in a suicide bombing at his residence on the first day of Eidul Azha, Imran Khan said that it was decided in the All Parties Conference (APC) that dialogue and not a military operation would be pursued as an option to deal with the menace of terrorism.

The PTI chief added that no political government had exercised the option of dialogue and if the present government had taken this step it should give it an opportunity to succeed.

Referring to remarks about him, Imran said, those who wanted to see war in the country were calling those in favour of dialogue cowards.
