ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will visit drought hit Tharparkar district of Sindh today (Monday). Prime minister will review the relief activities and will announce special package for the affectees of Tharparkar.
According to a private TV channel prime minister will review the relief activities and also distribute the relief goods in the affectees. Prime minister on the occasion will also announce the special package for the affectees. The concerned authorities have been directed to make arrangements for the visit of prime minister.
Meanwhile Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has directed all concerned departments to help famine affected brethren of Thar on priority basis. Prime minister office is continuously updating the prine minister regarding the Tharparkar situation.
In a statement‚ he assured the Sindh Government of full cooperation from the center.
On the directives of the Prime Minister‚ National Disaster Management Authority is in permanent contact with Provincial Disaster Management Authority to extend every possible assistance to the famine affectees.
The Prime Minister has also provided Mi-17 helicopter to the provincial government to rescue famine affected people of Thar. Senior military officials in Sindh are keeping the PM office abreast about the latest situation in the area.
It is worth mentioning here that the prime minister had taken notice of the situation and had assured the provincial government of full support of federation for the help of the affectees. So far over 200 children have been died due to drought and famine in Tharparkar.
