ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and JUI-S Chief Maulana Samiul Haq have expressed satisfaction over the progress made so far at peace talks between government and Taliban. Meanwhile Chaudhry Nisar while showing concerns over the drone flights during negotiations in Waziristan has told US that if it tried to harm the dialogue process it would be open enmity with Pakistan.
In a telephonic conversation with Maulana Samiul Haq on Sunday‚ Chaudhry Nisar said sabotaging the dialogue will be tantamount to enmity with Pakistan.
Chaudhry Nisar expressed concerns about the safety of peace negotiators from North Wazirsitan.
According to a spokesperson of the Interior Ministry, Chaudhry Nisar inquired about reasons for the delay in return of Professor Ibrahim and Maulana Yousuf Shah from Miranshah.
Maulana Sami reportedly told Nisar that the committee had to change his meeting place frequently as drones were hovering over the tribal region.
“It will be viewed as enmity with Pakistan if the dialogue process was sabotaged again,” Nisar said. He said US should avoid any such attempt.
Meanwhile, two sided expressed their satisfaction about the progress made so far regarding talks. On the inquiry of Chaudhry Nisar, Maulana Samiul Haq said due to the flights of the drones the negotiation committees have to change their meeting avenue frequently. Nisar assured full support of the federal government to Maulana Samiul Haq and also decided to remain in contact continuously.
Meanwhile Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has urged all political parties to cooperate with the government in carrying forward the targeted operation in Karachi.
He was talking to Sindh Governor Dr. Ishratul Ibad Khan on telephone on Sunday.
Interior Minister assured that alleged torture of an MQM worker will be investigated. Both the leaders discussed matters relating to the on-going targeted operation in Karachi and expressed their satisfaction in this regard.
According to reports, the governor and the interior minister discussed on going targeted operation in Karachi in their telephonic conversation.
Nisar said that all the political parties should support the government over the targeted operation and against criminal elements since it was in the interest of people.
