KARACHI: Federal Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that terrorism and dialogues cannot coexist. He said that the problem of law and order is the national issue, saying that the aim of his visit to Karachi is to analyze the troubled law and order situation in Karachi. Chaudhry Nisar said that the government would continue to be resolute against the forces which are causing hindrances in law and order. Meanwhile Chaudhry Nisar held separate meetings with the Governor Sindh Dr Eshratul Ebad Khan and Chief Minister Syed Qain Ali Shah and discussed the ongoing targeted operation of security forces in Karachi.
Meanwhile MQM delegation headed by Deputy Convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui also held meeting with the interior minister and governor house and conveyed MQM grievances regarding the target operation. MQM delegation demanded of the interior minister to form monitoring committee for the targeted operation. MQM also demanded of the interior minister to recover the kidnapped workers of MQM.
Chaudhry Nisar arrived in Karachi on Thursday on the directives of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif after terrorist attack on a police bus which killed 11 policemen and Nisar Ali Khan would also evaluate the ongoing targeted operation in the city.
He said that all the institutions would have to perform their duties while keeping in their legal jurisdiction, saying that the provinces and the federation would have to take joint action if anyone does action against the legal jurisdiction.
He said that federation and the Sindh government are jointly trying to restore peace in Karachi. He said that the government would be resolute against the forces which are causing hindrance in the law and order.

Speaking to media outside the airport, Nisar Ali Khan said that the law and order situation in the city is improving.
The interior minister further said that the first few months of the operation are successful and this trend should continue.
According to Nisar several operations in Karachi were conducted on the basis of information provided by the federal government. “Intelligence is being shared with all provinces.”
Chaudhry Nisar said that the problem plaguing Karachi is serious and can be resolved with consensus.
Meanwhile, the interior minister was scheduled to meet Governor Sindh, Chief Minister and MQM leaders during his visit
Nisar was given detailed briefing about ongoing targeted operation by the law enforcement agencies against criminals.
Chaudhry Nisar held meetings with Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Governor Dr. Ishratul Ebad and discussed the law and order situation in the city. Chaudhry Nisar was also briefed regarding the targeted operation in the city.
Interior Minister and the Chief Minister Sindh agreed to continue the Karachi operation until the objective of the operation is achieved and they agreed to resolve the reservations of the MQM through talks.
Nisar met with the leaders of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and reviewed the complaints of Muttahida Qaumi Movement regarding alleged extra-judicial killing of the party’s workers.
It is pertinent to mention here that at least 11 policemen were killed and scores of others injured in a bomb blast near Razzaqabad Police Training Centre in the wee hours of Thursday.
Police confirmed that it was a suicide attack on the police van. The bus was carrying 55 policemen and they were on way to their duty.
