SWAT: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has called upon the youth to take full advantage of Prime Minister’s Business Youth Loans in order to stand upon their own feet and gear up the speed of development in the country.
He said no injustice will be done to any province in business loan scheme, adding that being the prime minister he will do justice with all the people of the country. He said the loans would be given to the people on merit, without any party affiliation.
Addressing a ceremony in connection with the youth loan scheme in Swat on Wednesday, he said it is the first time in the country’s history that such a scheme has been launched for the youth.
In the past, only the well-to-do people had access to bank loans but we have opened the doors of financial institutions upon the youth.
Nawaz said he is the prime minister of 180 million people and will do justice with all the people. He said prior to elections he was representing PML-N but now he is the prime minister of whole country after winning elections, adding that the loan would be given to youth on the basis of merit and not party affiliation.
The Prime Minister held out the assurance that loans under the scheme will be given on merit regardless of political affiliations of the applicants. He said share of each province has been fixed in the scheme according to the ratio of population. Though the turn out of applications from some parts of the country has been low but the share of one province will not be given to the other.
Nawaz Sharif said he is personally monitoring the loan scheme and effort will be made to further expand and improve this scheme to make it a success story. He said certain conditions for the loan have been relaxed while reviewing matters relating to the loan guarantee.
Paying tributes to the people of Swat, KPK, Malakand and other areas for rendering matchless sacrifices for the revival of peace in the area, the Prime Minister said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa and Federally Administered Tribal Areas need this scheme the most to rebuild their lives. Nawaz Sharif also regretted over the attack on Engineer Amir Muqam during his address. Nawaz said he wanted to visit Amri Muqam residence but Amir Muqam asked him to meet with the youth instead of meeting him.
Later the prime minister also interacted with the applicants of loans and discussed with them the problems they faced while applying for the loan. The applicants appreciated the prime minister’s initiative for the youth.
Governor KPK Engineer Shukatullah Khan, Information Minister Senator Parvez Rashid, Religious Affairs Minister Sardar Muhammad Yousuf, Deputy Speaker National Assembly Barrister Murtaza Javed Abbassi, Engineer Amir Muqam, President National Bank Munir Kamal and others were present on the occasion.
It is worth mentioning here that no representative of the Khayber Pakhtoonkhawa government attended the ceremony.
