People responsible to hold rulers accountable: Nawaz

ISLAMABAD, (SANA): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N ) President Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that holding rulers accountable is not the responsibility of military or any other institution but the people of the country.

Speaking to media here on Saturday, Nawaz Sharif said that masses should hold every government accountable for its deeds.

PML-N chief said that governments did not run smoothly here, adding that sometime the president or the military interfered.

He said in 2008 their hands were tied and all the institutions were against PML-N. Nawaz said that he was not greedy for power, adding that if God provided him a chance he would serve the masses.

PML-N leader said that he would accept anyone whom the people elected in polls. He added that whoever won the elections and serve the common men he would support him.

Whatever happened in the past should not be repeated in the country, he said.

Nawaz Sharif said that it becomes difficult for a prime minister to deliver when both army and presidency start pressurizing him.

“Country is under huge debts and there is shortage of resources,” Nawaz Sharif said.

He said that PML-N would change the fate of the country if it comes to power, adding that if masses gave mandate to any other party, PNL-N would extend cooperation to it for the well-being of the country.

He said that the image of the country has been destroyed and no one appreciates and respects Pakistan.’ We need to decide what type of Pakistan we need’ Nawaz Sharif said.

He said that no institute is good enough as all institutes are at the brink of destruction.
