ISLAMABAD: Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Shah has said that time has come to make important decisions for establishing peace and effective protection of the national security. He said that Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif has clear mandate to take decisions and he should decide to take steps for establishing peace and national security.
Syed Khursheed Shah was talking to media in his chamber at the parliament house in Islamabad on Tuesday. He said that Prime Minister has clear mandate to take decisions and it would make no difference if any coalition partner of the PML-N government leaves the government.
He asked the Prime Minister to take decision, saying that steps are not being taken in the tribal areas and message regarding weakness of the government is reaching Balochistan and that is why attacks on trains are increasing.
He said that Chief Minister Sindh should also make his position clear with regard to occupation of Taliban in some areas of Karachi.
He said that Imran Khan’s statement regarding 40 percent chances of success in case of operation in the tribal areas is stabbing dagger into the back of democratic and political forces.
He said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan showed his political immaturity, saying that he gave message to Taliban to be resolute through his statement regarding 40 percent chances of success in case of operation in the tribal areas.
He said that Imran Khan gave message to the Taliban that government is afraid, saying that his statement also created confusion in the military.
He said that Prime Minister should come forward and should explain the statement of Imran Khan to the nation, saying that the terrorist activities have increased in the country due to the statement and the Taliban have increased pressure on the government after the statement.
He said that leader has to show himself when the time comes. He said that Nawaz Sharif should take the decision, saying that the government of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was weak and it did not have even 172 members in the parliament.
He urged the Prime Minister to get rid the nation of the cancer of terrorism. He said that the government is afraid and the Taliban have increased their attacks.
Khursheed Shah said that it is responsibility of the government to protect the state, saying that Prime Minister should immediately call the consultation meeting of the political leadership and the nation should be informed about the standpoint of the parties.
He said that Taliban would never accept the writ of the state and the government should not play in the hands of Taliban. He said that government and the army should be on the same page.
He said that Prime Minister should take step and the entire nation would back the Prime Minister as the national decision would have to be taken by the Prime Minister.
