PM takes notice of police ‘torture’ on MQM worker
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday took notice of alleged police torture on MQM worker. The PM took notice minutes after Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Haider Abbas Rizvi’s press conference in which he held police for extra-judicial killings and blamed the law-enforcers of collecting Rs 220 million extortion on daily basis in Karachi. Rizvi claimed that 45 MQM workers are missing, adding that a worker died of police torture today. The PM, while taking notice of the incident, sought report from IG Sindh within 24 hours. He ordered the Sindh police chief to investigate the matter and determine those responsible.
