ISLAMABAD, (SANA): The ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has finalized the name of former Sindh Governor Mamnoon Hussain for the election of President of Pakistan. A formal announcement in this regard will be made today (Tuesday).
According to sources of a private TV channel Syed Mamnoon Hussain has already arrived in Islamabad from Karachi.
Mamnoon Hussain, Sartaz Aziz and Justice (retd) Saeed uz Zaman Siddiqui had been shortlisted by the PML-N for the country’s highest office Last week.
Meanwhile Awami National Party (ANP) on Monday announced to support Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) candidate in Presidential elections that would be held on August 06.
Talking to media, leader of ANP, Haji Adeel said that Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) did not contact up till now.
He said ANP would support Mian Raza Rabbani in the presidential elections who will contest elections from PPP’s platform.
“Our representatives in National Assembly, Khyber Pakhtoonkhaw and Senate would vote Mian Raza Rabbani”, Haji Adeel mentioned. Replying a query, he said that PML-N still did not finalize name of its candidate.
