Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Shah has announced that Pakistan People’s party (PPP) will go to the extreme extent to save the government of Nawaz Sharif with regard to protection of democracy.
While talking to media in his chamber at the parliament house in Islamabad on Thursday, Syed Khursheed Shah said that government wants to bring amendment in the finance bill for getting the dangerous power of direct use of the national exchequer.
He said that the financial discipline and regulations will be at stake with this amendment in the finance bill.
He said that they will move to Supreme Court besides opposing the amendment in the parliament, saying that he will buy a blue-coloured suit like that of Khawaja Muhammad Asif for appearing in the court.
Khursheed Shah said that the government announced to conduct recounting in 40 constituencies on the protest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, saying that as to where went the claims of the government.
He said that PPP will never start war on elections rigging as 1977 like situation may be faced.
He said that PPP is doing all that for protection of democracy, saying that the democracy will be like dictatorship if the curry of the dictatorship is mixed with the democracy.
He said that there is likelihood of some hindrance due to which the recounting is not being conducted in the four constituencies.
Khursheed Shah said that the government has so far not contacted for appointment of the chief election commissioner and the decision for conducting operation was also delayed, saying that the government is bringing amendment in the finance bill to avoid the issue of circular debt of trillion of rupees.
He said that, in the past, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) provided water and meal at all the routes in the Punjab for brining Tahirul Qadri to Islamabad but the PPP will not do like that.
He said PPP could be suspected if it had been ruling in Canada that the PPP is bringing Tahirul Qadri to Pakistan.
