ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain has said that Pakistan attaches importance to its close and cordial equation with New Zealand and desires to further cement bilateral cooperation in diverse fields.
He was talking to Foreign Minister of New Zealand Murray Mc Cully in Islamabad on Friday. Bilateral relations and matters of mutual cooperation between the two countries were disused during the meeting.
The President said that Pakistan and New Zealand enjoy close cooperative relations based on shared perception and convergence of views. He expressed the hope that the visit of Foreign Minister of New Zealand would prove instrumental in further enhancing existing trade and commercial ties between the two countries.
The President invited Kiwi businessmen to avail the investment opportunities and incentive packages for investment in trade‚ energy‚ infrastructure‚ agriculture and dairy farming in Pakistan.
He said Pakistan is keen to benefit from New Zealand’s expertise in agriculture‚ food processing‚ animal health‚ post-harvest techniques and renewable energy sources.
The President welcomed the re-establishment of New Zealand-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Kiwi Parliament.
The visiting Foreign Minister said that his country highly values its relations with Pakistan and emphasized on exploring ways to further enhance trade and commercial ties.
