MULTAN: Taking the bull by the horns in its defector’s bastion, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is all geared up to amp up the political heat through a massive showing at Qila Qasim Bagh Stadium today.
The PTI will convene a mass political rally today at a stadium that has special significance for Imran Khan, as it will evoke cherished memories of 1980 match between West Indies and Pakistan.
During this 1980 classic match, Khan, in a powerful display of dangerous bowling attack, sent five guests back to pavilion at 62 runs.
He will again hit this ground after 34 years; but, this time round, there will no pitch, no bat and ball; instead, he will play his innings while perched at a stage with a mike.
The PTI’s stage will be almost 40 feet high. The stadium has a capacity to contain at least 70,000 people. The capacity can surge to one lakh, if people sit even on the stairs.
The PTI activists are exerting their maximum to fill the stadium beyond its capacity.
