SC wants to un-earth the hand behind anti judiciary campaign

Supreme-Court-of-PakistanThe Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) on Tuesday has directed Islamabad police to find out the hands behind pasting anti judiciary banners, posters in Red zone area of the federal capital.

As the A two-judge bench of the SC comprising Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk and Justice Dost Muhammad Khan resumed the Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Khuwaja Ahmed Hussain told the court that the mastermind of the incident Muhammad Rashid has been arrested.

Khuwaja Ahmed Hussain apprised the bench that the mastermind of the crime, Muhammad Rashid, has been apprehended and has admitted his crime in front of the magistrate.

On this, CJ Justice Nasirul Mulk questioned if the person who has been caught is the real accused or not. Responding to this, deputy attorney general told that police is investigating the matter and wanted to include a TV anchor Mubashir Lucman in the investigation who is currently abroad.

He further stated that the investigators don’t wish to limit the scope of the investigation to the confession statement of the key accused.

In the last hearing, the court had ordered Inspector General Islamabad Police Aftab Cheema to respond in seven days over the matter.

During the hearing, Deputy Attorney General Khuwaja Ahmed Hussain presented police report on behalf of IG Islamabad Police Aftab Cheema before the bench.

The DAG said that arrested accused Muhammad Rashid has admitted that he himself has get printed and pasted the anti judiciary banners. The accused has said that he has personal grudge with two anchors, so he had pasted the banner to get them involve in this matter.
What was the grudge of accused with a judge of apex court, as his name was written on banners, Chief Justice said.

DAG informed the court that the contact of accused with any other person has not been proved yet, adding that the issue regarding writing has been sent to the Cyber Crime department and report would be presented soon on their reply.

On court quarry Deputy Attorney General Khuwaja Ahmed Hussain said that the sections of contempt have been imposed in FIR against arrested accused, adding that departmental inquiry has been initiated against the police officers. The accused is on judicial remand and chlan of the case has been submitted in the concerned court.

Meanwhile Justice Dost Muhammad Khan observed that what is doing the capital police while the crimes ratio has been increased in Islamabad despite the decreasing.

The court maintained that the investigation of the case should be continued till receiving the Cyber Crime report by apex court and Islamabad police would submit its reply in the court by next date of hearing till August 19, 2014.
