ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri said the negotiations with the government have utterly collapsed after several peace initiatives were given unrestricted chance, announcing today (Thursday) is the Day of Revolution.
Addressing the participants of Inqilab March sit-in opposite Parliament House in accompaniment of Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan and Punjab Governor Muhammed Sarwar, he said the government led by Mian Nawaz Sharif is absolutely non-serious in resolving the prevalent standoff.
“We forwarded to the high level government delegation two conditions—registration of FIR and the resignation of Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif. But, Mian Nawaz Sharif plainly turned down these conditions,” Dr. Qadri stressed adding the government is unwilling to even listen to the poor.
“Hence, I announce sorrowfully that the talks with the government failed completely to bear fruit,” he maintained.
The doors of negotiations, he added, stand closed now, adding, “We tried our utmost and gave every chance to peace,” announcing that today (Thursday) will be the Day of Inqilab (revolution).
The PAT chief underlined that the powers would be transferred to the people today on the Day of Inqilab, when decisions would be made, adding he would deliver his last speech at 3pm today.
