Talking to media here on Sunday, after his appointment as caretaker premier, Hazar Khan Khoso said that by the will of Almighty Allah polls would be conducted according to the announced schedule and would be held on time, adding that it is the responsibility of election commission (ECP) to make timely arrangements for polls while he assured his full support to ECP for the holding of general elections.
He said that caretaker cabinet would consist of 10-12 members only. He further said that the cabinet would be sized as per needs.
Hazar Khan Khoso said “I will try my best to come up to the expectations of people.”
He further said that only elections are the solution of all the issues, adding that he would hold meetings with all the political leaders soon.
Commenting on law and order situation, the premier said that it is the responsibility of the provinces to maintain it. Provinces would be consulted on this issue, he added.
Hazar Khan Khoso said that he would quit if he could not hold elections on time. Politician could also be included in the caretaker cabinet, he said.
Meanwhile, Justice (retd) Hazar Khan Khoso has been provided PM’s protocol after Chief Election Commission (ECP) appointed him as caretaker premier.
Sources said that security of the newly appointed prime minister and other staff reached Balochistan House in this regard, where Hazar Khan Khoso was present.
The oath taking ceremony of caretaker prime minister would be held on Monday at 1:00 pm in Awan-e-Sadr. President Asif Ali Zardari will administer oath to Hazar Khan Khoso.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani congratulated Hazar Khan Khoso on his selection.
Pakistan Muslim League–Nawaz (PML-N) accepted the selection of the new caretaker Prime Minister, even though Hazar Khan Khoso’s candidature was presented by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
Punjab Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said “We welcome the appointment of the new caretaker Prime Minister.”
Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) leader, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervez Elahi also felicitated the care taker prime minister.
Pervez Elahi said, ‘The election of the caretaker Prime Minister is a good decision.’
Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan expressed reservations on the appointment of the Justice (retd) Mir Hazar Khan Khoso as caretaker prime minister of the country.
