SUKKUR: Opposition Leader in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah has said that the peace talks hold no meaning following the recent terrorist attacks in country, adding that now prime minister should have to thing as a leader.
Addressing media in Sukkur, Khursheed Shah said his party supported the government to hold talks with the Taliban despite criticism from several political parties. Shah lamented that the peace talks were useless following the recent terrorist attacks across the country.
He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should take a firm decision on this sensitive issue like a true leader, adding that the PPP would completely support the government whatever decision it takes to curb terrorism.
PPP leader said democracy would not be derailed at any cost.
Shah said the government had not contacted the opposition after the new wave of terror attack but was rather chasing after the Taliban for talks.
According to Shah, Prime Minister Nawaz Shahrif would have to think like a leader and decided what the next step would be. He said that the country was facing loss due to the week position of the government. Shah said the interior minister had said that now if any terrorist attack would be carried out it would be thought as an effort to sabotage the peace talks. He said that the recent terrorist incidents are enmity with the country. He said if there would be any terrorism incident in country the government would be responsible for it, adding that the injured being treated at the CMH questioned from him that who will bring them out from the current mess.
Khurshid Shah said that prime minister should become leader and bring the nation out of this mess, adding that the statement of Imran Khan caused disappointment in masses, adding that the government should not play on the week wicket.
