ISLAMABAD, (SANA): President Asif Ali Zardari has no intention to resign before the expiry of his constitutional term. Farhatullah Babar said that there is no question of Asif Ali Zardari leaving the presidency.
Talking to media here on Friday after the meeting of the Senate Standing Committee for Defence and the Defence Production at the Parliament House, The Spokesman of the Presidency Senator Farhatullah Babar clarified that as to why the President Asif Ali Zardari should resign, adding that the President would call the session of the new assembly after issuance of the formal notification of the successful candidates without any delay.
Senator Farhatullah Babar’s remarks came over rumors that President Zardari is planning to resign following his party’s crushing defeat in the general election.
It is mentioned here that the former ruling party, PPP, has suffered a humiliating defeat in the election 2013. It has been wiped out from Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. But PPP got some respite in Sindh, where it emerged as the single largest party by bagging 67 seats.
